RemoteJobs Privacy Policy

Applies to the RemoteJobs app · Last updated 8 September 2026

1. Who this policy is about

This policy explains what RemoteJobs does with personal data. It covers the mobile app and https://midnightapps.dev/remotejobs/. RemoteJobs is provided by Midnight Holdings LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company in the United States that operates as Midnight Apps, which is responsible for (the controller of) the personal data described here; "we", "us" and "our" mean Midnight Holdings LLC. Questions, and any request about your data: legal@midnightapps.dev.

2. What we collect

Account data: your email address, your password (stored only as a hash by our authentication provider), and whether your email is verified. Profile data: the first and last name, country and language you enter. Preferences: your job-search preferences, notification settings and analytics choices. Activity you create: jobs you save, searches you save, job alerts you set, and your own records of applications you made, including the listing URL and the status you set. Support and rights requests: the content of support tickets you open and of any data-export or deletion request you make. Consent records: which version of which legal document you accepted, when, and the app version, language and country at the time. Security and billing records: authentication and account events, and subscription and payment events reported by the app stores. Device settings needed to run the app, such as your language and region.

3. What we do not collect

We do not collect your contacts, your precise location, or advertising identifiers. No third-party analytics SDK, advertising SDK or crash-reporting SDK is installed in this application, so no usage or crash data is sent to such a provider. Documents you add, such as a résumé, are stored on your own device and are not uploaded to our servers. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with data brokers.

4. Why we use it

To create and secure your account; to show you job listings and remember what you saved, searched for and applied to; to determine whether you are entitled to subscriber-only content; to answer your support messages and your privacy requests; to detect and prevent fraud, abuse and scam listings; to keep the security and billing records we are required to keep; and to comply with law.

5. Who we share it with

Our hosting and backend provider, Supabase, which operates the database, authentication and storage that run this service. The Apple App Store and Google Play, which process subscription payments; we receive the resulting entitlement and payment events, and never your card details. RevenueCat, where it is configured for the release you are using, to reconcile store subscriptions with our entitlement records. We also disclose data where we are legally required to, and to professional advisers where necessary. Each of these acts under contract and on our instructions, except the app stores, which also act on their own account.

6. Job sources and outbound links

Listings are fetched by us from third-party sources; those sources do not receive your personal data as part of that process. When you follow a listing to an employer's site or applicant-tracking system you leave RemoteJobs, and that third party's own privacy policy applies to anything you submit there, including your résumé and contact details. See the Employer and Third-Party Disclaimer.

7. International transfers

Our backend is hosted in the United States. If you use RemoteJobs from outside the United States, your data is transferred there. Where the law of your country requires a transfer safeguard, we rely on the appropriate mechanism for that transfer; the specific mechanism is to be confirmed by counsel before publication.

8. How long we keep it

While your account exists, we keep your account data for as long as you use the service. When you delete your account, records that exist only because of your account — your profile, preferences, saved jobs, saved searches, job alerts, your own application-tracking records, support tickets (including reports you made about job listings or employers, which are filed as support tickets), privacy requests, consent records and subscription entitlement records — are deleted with it. Two categories of record are kept, with your account reference removed so they no longer identify you: security and audit events, and billing and payment events. Records that serve a business or moderation purpose rather than your account — for example an enquiry raised on behalf of an employer, an internal note written by a reviewer, or a report about an offer in the Remote Work Shop — are likewise kept with your reference removed. Specific retention periods for the retained security and billing records are being set with counsel, and are not stated here rather than being guessed at.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, obtain a copy of it, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent. The app provides two of these directly: Profile, then Privacy, then Download my data raises an export request, and Profile, then Delete account deletes your account immediately and by itself, without needing to email anyone. You can also raise any request at legal@midnightapps.dev. You may complain to your local data-protection authority.

10. Children

RemoteJobs is not intended for children. Accounts require you to meet the minimum age for your country, which ranges from 13 to 18 depending on the country. If you believe a child has created an account, contact legal@midnightapps.dev and we will remove it.

11. Security

Access to your data is enforced by the database itself: each row is restricted to its owner by row-level security, so a request for someone else's data is refused by the backend rather than by the app. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never stored by us in readable form. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Changes

We will make any updated policy available in the app and, where a change is material, ask you to acknowledge it. The version and date of the policy you are reading are shown at the top of this screen.
